Multi-Algorithm Hash Generator
Enter text or choose a file up to 4 MB. The page returns MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512 for those bytes. Paste a hexadecimal digest to see which algorithm matches. These checksums are not a substitute for bcrypt. The input is not stored.
Quick start
- 1
Enter the input
Type text, or choose a file up to 4 MB. When a file is selected, its bytes are hashed.
- 2
Paste a digest
Leave this empty to only generate hashes. Paste a hex digest when you want a match.
- 3
Generate
The page shows lowercase MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512.
- 4
Read the match
A pasted digest is compared with all three. Copy the hash you need. The input is not stored.
Features
Three checksums
MD5, SHA-256, and SHA-512 are computed together from the same bytes.
Text or file
Hash UTF-8 text, or the raw bytes of a file up to 4 MB. A file is used when one is selected.
Match a digest
Paste an existing hex digest and see whether it matches MD5, SHA-256, or SHA-512.

Use cases
- Check a published file checksum.
- Compare a string with an MD5 or SHA digest from another system.
- Copy SHA-256 for a fixture.
Frequently asked questions
Are these password hashes?
No. They are one-way checksums. MD5 is included for older checksums. Store passwords with Password Hash, which uses bcrypt.
Does a match prove a file is safe?
It shows the bytes you sent produce that digest. It does not scan the file for anything else.
